Screen testing

Today we screen tested our main performer.  This meant that we practised the lead singer singing along to the song and filmed it in the studio. We ran through it three times so that she got to grips with what she was doing.

Storyboard Animatic - Fireshrine

We first started our animatics by producing our story board for our music video which we split between the four of us so we all had the same amount of pictures to draw. We used the cameras to film each picture from our storyboard which was a ten second shot. We then uploaded these clips to the computer and started editing and eventually it fell together. We were pleased with the process of it but we found it hard to get the beat of the song right with the pictures which was the hardest part of it. We edited it between us so that we all knew how to work the software but it also meant we could all put our different ideas into our animatic. We tried our best to make the pictures match the beat of our song but when we watched it back we realised we hadn't quite got it right but this was good as this then meant that we would be more aware of it when we come to edit our actual music video.

When we watched them back we recorded feedback on our animatic of our other class friends and teachers views on it. They liked it but there was a few things to criticise. We have uploaded this so you can watch the video but this was also very useful to us as it meant that we could listen to others ideas and improve on our idea for our final music video.

Letter of confirmation

4AD are a British independent record label who specialise in upcoming artists. Purity ring are signed to them and so we wrote them an email, asking for confirmation to use their song.

 

4AD specialise in more 'indie' bands, and a few more who are signed to them include bands such as bon iver, deer hunter and grimes.
